Why can’t I hear audio?
This article will help you troubleshoot why you cannot hear sound from the camera
Not being able to hear audio from a camera may be caused by one or more of the following reasons:
1. The camera hardware does not have a microphone
Some camera models do not support audio recording.
- Please refer to the camera user manual or the product specifications on our official website to confirm whether your camera supports audio.
2. The camera microphone function is manually disabled
Even if the camera has a built-in microphone, the audio function may have been manually turned off in the settings.

3. Technical or connection issues
- Hardware failure: The camera’s microphone may be physically damaged.
- Network or configuration issues: As the camera is a network device, audio stream transmission problems may prevent audio from being transmitted together with video.
- Software incompatibility: The NVR or platform in use may not support the camera’s audio codec.
4. Environmental factors
If the camera has a microphone but no sound can be heard, the issue may be caused by environmental conditions:
- The surrounding sound level is too low.
- For outdoor cameras, the microphone hole may be blocked by dust or debris.
- The speaker or playback device being used has an issue.
