Night vision not switching
When the device cannot switch night vision modes properly, the issue may be related to system settings, the installation environment, or a hardware fault. Please follow the steps below to troubleshoot step by step:
I. Check Night Vision Mode Settings
Step 1: Open the CYVIO App, select the device with the night vision issue, tap the "…" icon in the top-right corner to open the menu, and choose Camera Settings to enter the camera settings page (see image below).
Step 2: Tap Common Settings to enter the general settings page (see image below).
Step 3: On the general settings page, tap Image Settings to enter the image control interface (see image below).
Step 4: Check the IR-CUT Mode setting.
If it is currently set to Color Mode or Black White Mode, please change it to Image Mode (Auto Mode) (see image below).
II. Check for Installation Environment Interference
Please check whether the camera installation location has any of the following environmental issues:
1. Direct strong light sources:
If the camera is facing strong light (such as streetlights or spotlights), and the ambient brightness exceeds the threshold, the device will remain in color mode and will not switch to night vision.
2. Frequent light changes:
If lights are frequently turned on and off in the environment, the device may trigger a protection mechanism and force night vision mode.
Stop frequent light switching and leave the device idle for 10 minutes. The camera will then automatically resume normal switching based on ambient brightness (color mode when bright, night vision when dark).
3. Low-light or enclosed spaces:
If the installation environment is continuously dark or in a confined space, the device may stay in night vision mode and be unable to switch back to color mode.
III. Check Camera Hardware Status
If no issues are found after the steps above, a hardware malfunction may be present. Please perform the following test:
While the device is displaying a color image, completely cover the camera lens with an opaque object and observe whether it switches to night vision mode.
If there is no response, the infrared switching component may be faulty.
